4 Daily Habits You Should Be Side-eyeing Right Now

4 Daily Habits You Should Be Side-eyeing Right Now

We all have our little routines that keep the day moving—whether it’s the first sip of coffee in the morning or that mid-day chat with a friend to recharge. But have you ever really stopped to think about where some of those habits are steering you?

While creating the Priority Guide®, I started noticing a few patterns in how we approach our days. Some habits are actually helpful, while others...well, they might be quietly sabotaging us.

See if any of these sound like you:

1. The Free Spirit

Starting the Day Without a Real Plan

You love to dive into your day and let it unfold naturally. A loose mental list might be as far as your planning goes. It feels freeing at first, but the lack of structure can quickly leave you spinning your wheels.

What to try instead: Think of your day like building a house—you wouldn’t skip the blueprint. A simple plan helps you focus on what really matters, so your energy goes to things that move the needle (and your sanity stays intact).

2. The Juggler

Multi-Tasking Like a Pro

If anyone’s got ten things going at once, it’s you. Juggling tasks makes you feel like you’re conquering the world, but splitting your attention can lead to mistakes, forgotten details, and that “Why did I walk into this room again?” moment.

What to try instead: Give your full attention to one task at a time. It may feel slower at first, but you’ll be amazed at how much better (and less stressful) life feels when you focus on the *one thing* right in front of you.

3. The Spontaneous Planner

Saying Yes Without Thinking It Through

You’re the queen of “Sure, I’ll squeeze that in!” Last-minute plans sound fun until they leave you overcommitted, overwhelmed, and wondering why you ever said yes in the first place.

What to try instead: Pause before you commit. Ask yourself, “Does this really fit my day, or is it just adding more to my plate?” A thoughtful ‘yes’ feels so much better than a reactive one.

4. The Project Pioneer

Starting All the Things, Finishing Few of Them

You’re bursting with ideas, and starting new projects feels exciting and fresh. But sometimes those half-finished ventures pile up, creating mental clutter that quietly drains your energy.

What to try instead: Focus on finishing what you’ve already started. Not only will you feel lighter, but you’ll also get the deep satisfaction of knowing you’ve seen something through.

We all fall into these habits at times—no shame in it! Sometimes, I’m a mix of both all in on the same day. But recognizing what’s holding us back is the first step to moving forward with intention.

So, which style sounds like you? And more importantly, what small change could you make today to feel more in line with where you want to go?

Just something to think about…
